King, Garth dismantle England as Australia extend Ashes lead in low-scoring win

In front of a packed Shane Warne stand at the Junction Oval, Alana King produced an Ashes spell for the ages in the mould of her hero to inspire Australia to an extraordinary victory over England, defending 180 in a crazy finish that had to be seen to be believed and handed the hosts a four-point lead after two matches in the multi-format series.Defending a meagre 181, the lowest ever defended in an Ashes ODI, King took 4 for 25 with some magical legspin bowling. She was well supported by Kim Garth who took 3 for 37 while Ash Gardner bowled a frugal spell of 10 overs taking 1 for 23.King was awestruck by the ovation she got from the Shane Warne stand following her extraordinary spell.”I played a lot of cricket here growing up and even started off my professional career at Victoria, so this place will always be pretty special to me,” King said. “Having the Shane Warne stand now, yeah, it was pretty surreal to be quite honest, but more happy to get the win.”As good as Australia’s bowlers were, England’s batters were enormous contributors to their own downfall with a mix of woeful decision-making and execution ensuring Australia could afford to drop four catches, have Annabel Sutherland withdrawn from the attack for two no-balls above waist high in the 48th over, and still win by 21 runs.England’s meltdown was complete after Amy Jones forgot to run off the second free hit in the over, that had to be bowled by Tahlia McGrath, which left No. 11 Lauren Bell exposed at the start of the 49th. She was bowled first ball to leave Jones stranded on 47.England’s stunning collapse outshone Australia’s earlier in the day after the home side lost 8 for 49 to be bowled out for 180 with Alice Capsey taking a career-best 3 for 22 and Sophie Ecclestone claiming 4 for 35.Ellyse Perry made a match-winning 60 but she was one of Capsey’s three victims as Australia slumped from 131 for 2 to be bowled out in 44.3 overs. It was the first time Australia had been bowled out at the Junction Oval in nine completed ODIs there. The 12 wickets taken by spinners across the match is the joint-most in Australia in ODIs. The rarity of Australia’s stunning collapse was highlighted by the fact that their No. 11 Darcie Brown scored her first ODI run, having previously batted just once in 22 matches. While Australia’s collapse was epic and statistically far more impressive, it ended up being second-best to England who are now in a perilous situation in the series. The collapse came in two parts having reached 68 for 2 after Garth removed both openers.Heather Knight and Nat Sciver-Brunt looked in control with a calming 41-run stand. But just like Sydney, both butchered promising starts to leave England stuttering. Knight closed the face trying to work Gardner square and popped up a simple return catches off the leading edge.King then weaved her magic, bowling Danni Wyatt-Hodge with a ball that drifted into middle and leg and ripped into the top of off, leaving the batter with a Mike Gatting-esque look on her face.Sciver-Brunt then following Maia Bouchier and Knight’s lead, closing the bat face against the turn to pop an easy leading edge to cover.England steadied briefly, with Jones and Capsey sharing a 36-run stand. But it came off an asphyxiating 75 balls. Capsey was given out lbw but reprieved via an inside edge. Jones was then dropped at backward point, before finally the pressure told as Garth beat Capsey’s inside edge to finally get her out lbw.King’s last over was mayhem. Charlie Dean tried a lap scoop and succeeded only in popping an easy catch to Mooney who moved behind Alyssa Healy from slip. Ecclestone nicked a big spinning legbreak next ball to leave King on a hat-trick and England eight-down.It should have been nine three balls later. Lauren Filer was dropped at a catching mid-on by Garth to deny King five.Jones then farmed the strike and England still had a chance. Filer was dropped a second time with Healy unable to hold a spectacular one-handed effort off Garth. But as with any great collapse, it was not complete without a calamitous run out. Filer obliged after Jones tried to lap-scoop Megan Schutt. Brown made an exceptional diving save at short third. Filer ran all the way down while Jones never moved. Healy relayed a throw from Brown to Schutt before Filer could get close to safety.England were left nine down needing 34 from 42 balls. Bell then managed to survive 15 balls for one run but equation became 28 from 18 before Sutherland’s 48th seemed to give England hope. But in the chaos of Sutherland’s over, Jones forgot how many balls were left and King forgot she had dropped a free-hit in the deep. Jones’ amnesia was more costly.Earlier, Australia’s collapse could have easily cost them the match. They were cruising after being sent in at 131 for 2 with Perry looking imperious having passed 50 for the 38th time in her ODI career, barely offering a false shot in the process.Ecclestone, the No.1 bowler in the world, had made an indifferent start with the ball after oddly being held out of the attack until the 18th over, having not been brought on until the 15th over in the first ODI in Sydney. She struck second ball, trapping Phoebe Litchfield lbw for 29 as the left-hander yorked herself trying to reverse-sweep.Ecclestone then overattacked to Perry and Mooney for three overs before trapping the left-hander lbw. England needed a review to get the initial not out decision overturned.Capsey then scythed through the middle-order with her part-time offspin after replacing Charlie Dean at the pavilion end. She dropped a relatively straightforward caught and bowled chance offered by Sutherland. But it did not cost much as Sutherland failed to keep another drive down, picking out Knight at cover.Ellyse Perry brought up her half-century with back-to-back boundaries•Cricket Australia via Getty Images

Perry then got bogged down. She had raced to 51 from 52 balls, striking five fours and two sixes. She never went longer than 14 balls without finding the rope and struck a six and two fours in the space of five balls to bring up the milestone. But having motored to 51, she scored just nine runs from her next 22 balls with Ecclestone and Capsey putting the squeeze on having taken two wickets at the other end.In the 29th over, Capsey delivered four consecutive dots to Perry, never leaving the stumps and nearly trapping her lbw with the fourth ball. She sneaked through with the fifth as Perry jammed her bat against her pad but missed the ball. She was initially given not out but England were successful with another review. Capsey added to her haul when Gardner left a huge gap between bat and pad trying an ambitious drive on the up and lost her off stump.Knight seized the moment and brought Filer back on to the remove the out-of-form Tahlia McGrath with sheer pace. Filer had previously looked like Bambi on ice in her opening two spells, slipping and tumbling to the deck in her delivery stride nearly half a dozen times as she conceded 34 in five overs.Ecclestone returned to clean up the tail alongside Bell who also finished with 2 for 25 including the early wicket of Healy.

Newcastle: PIF submit offer to sign another Man Utd target alongside Sesko

Newcastle United have submitted an offer to sign another Manchester United target, amid the two clubs’ pursuit of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.

Newcastle and Man Utd both make Sesko offers

The Magpies haven’t had things all their own way during the summer transfer window, missing out on numerous targets while also facing the possibility of losing star striker Alexander Isak.

Newcastle United's AlexanderIsakcelebrates scoring their first goal

Liverpool are keen on signing the Sweden international before the September 1 deadline in a deal that could break transfer records. However, Eddie Howe recently admitted that “nothing has changed” regarding Isak’s future despite him missing pre-season.

“Nothing has changed. It is very much the mindset of business as usual for the players. You don’t get a chance to think of anything other than training or the next game when you come on these tours. The level is so high that we still have to be at our best.

“Naturally, we are going to miss a player of his quality and the group are going to feel that. I cannot sit here and claim that they won’t, but they are a very professional group of players. They are doing brilliantly, as far as I can see, in terms of managing the current situation.”

Newcastle and PIF will need to sign a replacement for Isak before letting him go, and one forward they are battling to sign is Sesko. Both the Magpies and Man Utd have made proposals to the player, who looks set to decide his next move over the coming days.

However, those at St James’ Park and Old Trafford aren’t just battling for Sesko, as per a recent transfer update.

Newcastle have offer for Real Madrid player rejected

According to a report from Spain, both Newcastle and Man Utd are fighting over a move for Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.

In fact, it is claimed that Newcastle moved to sign Lunin ‘on loan with an option to buy, but their initial offer was rejected’.

Meanwhile, at Old Trafford, the possible departure of Altay Bayindir and the need for competition for Andre Onana has seen them eye Lunin, but those at the Bernabeu ‘aren’t considering his departure anytime soon’.

As we know, Newcastle have now got their new goalkeeper in Aaron Ramsdale in a similar deal to the one they proposed to Madrid for Lunin.

Signing from Southampton on a season-long loan with the option to buy, Ramsdale will provide competition to Nick Pope after they missed out on bringing James Trafford to St James’ Park.

Whether or not Newcastle still want Lunin remains to be seen, but it looks as if they recently made their move.

Man Utd's Old Trafford redevelopment hailed as 'project of a lifetime' in contrast to Queen Elizabeth II memorial by 90-year-old architect behind £2bn stadium plans

Manchester United’s £2 billion ($2.7bn) redevelopment of Old Trafford has been billed as a "project of a lifetime" by the architect that drew up ambitious plans for the stunning new ground. The Premier League giants have revealed that they intend to build a new 100,000-seater stadium that will more than deliver on Sir Jim Ratcliffe's dreams to construct a "Wembley of the North".

Plans revealed for stunning new venue

Lord Norman Foster, who is considered to be "one of the world’s most important living architects", has been charged with the task of drawing up what an iconic venue in Manchester will look like.

AdvertisementFoster's portfolio includes iconic structures

Those plans were revealed to the world in March 2025. Foster’s vision raised a few eyebrows, but his work often does that – with his professional portfolio including the iconic ‘Gherkin’ building in London, the Millennium Bridge and the British Museum’s spectacular Great Court.

Manchester native proud to be involved

Foster, who has also been commissioned to build a national memorial to honour Queen Elizabeth II, is proud to have been drafted into United’s Old Trafford upgrade project – as he grew up in Manchester.

The 90-year-old has, per , said of working with the Red Devils: "The fan base is incredible."

He added when asked if he is excited to be part of grand plans for the future: "You bet. It's a galvanising project… and so many things can naturally ride on the back of that sporting, emblematic kind of team."

Foster went on to say of United’s new home, which will be unlike any other stadium in Britain: "Manchester United is different and therefore its stadium's going to be different… and better, of course."

Wayne Rooney braced for 'awkward' meeting with Ruben Amorim when Man Utd legend takes son Kai to academy training

Wayne Rooney has reportedly braced himself for an 'awkward' possible meeting with Ruben Amorim after criticising the Manchester United head coach. This is partly because the ex-Red Devils striker picks his son up from the club's training ground – a place the Portuguese regularly frequents.

  • Rooney continues to criticise Man Utd's Amorim

Following United's 3-0 loss to rivals Manchester City at the weekend, Rooney said his former team are now even "worse" under head coach Amorim. The 39-year-old is often seen at the club's headquarters due to son Kai's role in the academy, so things could be 'awkward' if he bumps into Amorim there.

Rooney on his 'uncomfortable' situation with Amorim at Man Utd

He said on : "I was speaking with Rio [Ferdinand] yesterday on this. We want to support the team, we want to support the manager as best we can, but we also have to be honest as well because the fans are not fools and we have to give our honest opinion on what we're seeing.

"That does put us in uncomfortable positions at times. Rio was out in Chicago with the team for pre-season. Obviously I go into the training ground quite a lot with my children. It does put us in an uncomfortable position but we have to be honest with what we're seeing. Frankly it's just not good enough."

  • Amorim under pressure at Man Utd

With their heavy defeat at the Etihad, United have now picked up just four points from four games – their worst start to a Premier League season in 33 years. Amorim is said to retain the support of the club's hierarchy but that may waver if results don't improve soon.

Bailey upgrade: Aston Villa chase one of the PL's "most underrated players"

After a very quiet start to the transfer window, things are really starting to heat up at Aston Villa.

Back-up goalkeeper Marco Bizot was the only new signing to start the Claret and Blue Army’s Premier League opener against Newcastle, deputising for the suspended Emi Martínez, while their most noteworthy new recruit, Evann Guessand, was an unused substitute.

Meantime, as they seek to stay compliant with the Premier League’s Profitability & Sustainability Rules, Villa have made a few sales in recent days, so could this lead to them making a notable addition?

Aston Villa's new look attack

On Sunday, it was confirmed that Jacob Ramsey had departed Aston Villa, the club he joined as a six-year-old, signing for Newcastle United for a reported fee of £43m.

Jacob Ramsey in Premier League action for Aston Villa.

Meantime, having not even been on the bench at the weekend, Leon Bailey is expected to complete a move to Roma this week, with the Giallorossi paying a £2m loan fee, the deal containing a £19m option to buy.

So, could these departures facilitate an attacking addition or two being added to Unai Emery’s squad?

Well, according to a report by the Daily Mirror, Aston Villa are ‘interested’ in signing Leandro Trossard from Arsenal, with Brentford as well as ‘several foreign clubs’ also monitoring the Belgian’s situation; Fenerbahçe and Bayern Munich have been mentioned in the past.

Interestingly, the £18m-rated forward was an unused substitute during the Gunners’ Premier League opener at Old Trafford on Sunday, with Mikel Arteta turning to new signing Noni Madueke instead, when the Belgian had previously been the first man off the bench for so long.

Transfer Focus

Mega money deals, controversial moves and big-name flops. This is the home of transfer news and opinion across Football FanCast.

Having spent big, Arsenal need to raise funds in the remaining weeks of the window, looking to offload Oleksandr Zinchenko, Reiss Nelson, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Fábio Vieira and possibly Trossard too, so could he soon swap North London for Villa Park?

What Leandro Trossard would bring to Aston Villa

Ever since he first arrived in the Premier League, joining Brighton from Genk, Trossard has been a consistent performer.

He scored 25 goals and registered 15 assists in 121 outings for the Seagulls, most notably bagging a hat-trick against Liverpool at Anfield, before a public falling out with Roberto De Zerbi in January 2023 saw him depart.

Having failed in their pursuit of Mykhailo Mudryk, Arsenal swooped in and signed Trossard, and this has certainly proved to be £27m well spent.

The Belgian has racked up 28 goals and 23 assists in 124 Arsenal appearances, earning a reputation as something of a super sub, often making key contributions off the bench, including scoring with his first touch at Villa Park almost exactly 12 months ago, this the last time Aston Villa tasted defeat in a league match at home.

Ben Jacobs of talkSPORT labelled him a “clinical” finisher, while manager Arteta described him as “competitive”, adding “he wants to win… he always wants to be the best”. In the words of one Arsenal content creator, he is “one of the most underrated player in the Premier League”.

Trossard featured in all 38 of Arsenal’s Premier League matches last season, the only outfielder to achieve this, filling in across the front line, deployed as a centre-forward and a second-striker, as well as on both flanks, given the Gunners’ injury crisis.

Should he move to Villa, Emery would surely appreciate this versatility, but let’s assess how he compares to the outgoing Bailey.

As the table outlines, Trossard has produced a far greater output across the last two Premier League seasons, albeit Bailey does come out on top in terms of assists, chances created and dribbles per 90, albeit the Belgian completed a higher proportion of his take-ons.

So, in terms of being an out-and-out goal threat, Trossard would surely represent a clear upgrade on what Villa are selling.

Also, as already documented, the Belgian is very durable, while the same cannot be said of the departed Ramsey, who missed eight Premier League matches last season due to a hamstring injury, having seen little over 1,000 minutes during the previous campaign due to metatarsal, foot, toe and hamstring issues.

Even last year, when making 46 appearances, accumulating over 2,300 minutes, the 24-year-old scored just four goals and registered a mere seven assists across all competitions.

Given that Villa could play as many as 67 matches this season, including up to 17 in the Europa League, Trossard’s availability would surely prove invaluable.

Thus, if Arsenal are eager to sell, and the 30-year-old is available at the right price, he would add plenty to Emery’s squad.

Rain hands Zimbabwe series win after batters struggle

The middle order had given the home side some impetus but the weather had a final say

Ekanth25-Feb-2025

File photo: Sikandar Raza top-scored for Zimbabwe•Zimbabwe Cricket

– No resultA second washout in three games handed Zimbabwe a 1-0 T20I series win to end their home summer on a high. There was space for just one innings as rain delayed the toss by 45 minutes and then returned during the innings break to have the final word.Zimbabwe had a stop-start innings after being put into bat in the 18-overs-a-side contest. They stretched their way to 142 thanks to Sikandar Raza taking control after having come in at 18 for 2, before Tashinga Musekiwa and Tony Munyonga’s cameos provided late acceleration.Craig Young and Gareth Delany picked up two wickets each for Ireland. The bowlers did have trouble gripping the moist ball, but managed to keep the run rate at a shade under eight an over. The evening started with Paul Stirling winning the toss and Ireland striking twice in the first three overs. Young found seam movement to have Tadiwanashe Marumani caught behind. Matthew Humphreys then darted in an arm ball from around the wicket to smash Wessly Madhevere’s stumps.Raza started off with a streaky boundary over short third before going through a couple of tense moments. He was in pain after edging a mistimed pull on to his leg, he survived an lbw call off Josh Little in the seventh over, and an edge off his bat didn’t carry to wicketkeeper Lorcan Tucker in the eighth. He did dispatch a Fionn Hand slower ball over long-on and pumped Humphreys for a four and a six. But when he tried a flat-bat hit off Delany, the ball seemed to hold up in the pitch and ended up in Harry Tector’s hands at long-on.Delany got Brian Bennett four balls later with a ball that bounced low to take an edge and flatten leg stump as Zimbabwe slumped to 67 for 4. However, that was the only over Delany bowled for the day.Munyonga got a fortunate boundary in the 11th over as debutant Tim Tector, at long-on, came in too close and the ball soared over him for a boundary. Ryan Burl offered two near chances in the following over off Hand, neither of which carried to the outfielders running in. The duo picked up seven twos, four of them in the 13th over, in their 27-run stand. That was broken by Little, who had Burl caught at deep third.Musekiwa launched Young for two sixes in the 15th over, the first of which brought up Zimbabwe’s hundred, before pulling a half-tracker from Little into the grass banks. Musekiwa got a free hit after Hand, in a bid to keep the ball out of the arc, delivered a ball so wide that it was outside the cut strip. But a wide later, he missed out on a full-toss free hit.Munyonga had near chances in the 16th over, both of which resulted in twos, but fell to Young in the final over, trying to swipe the ball over long-on. Wellington Masakadza got a boundary off his first ball, but Young bowled four yorkers on the bounce to keep the batters quiet. With dew around, Ireland would have fancied their chances of chasing down the total and ensuring that Zimbabwe finished their home summer without a series win, but it was not to be.

New Pogba: INEOS offered bargain deal to sign "world-class" CM for Man Utd

Paul Pogba is a player who massively divided opinion during his time at Manchester United, producing numerous moments of magic, but unfortunately, they were few and far between.

The French midfielder re-joined the Red Devils in a then-world record fee of £89m from Juventus, just a handful of years after he joined the Italian side on a free transfer from Old Trafford.

He racked up over 200 appearances during his second spell in the Premier League, but it was one that was full of questions about his attitude, leading to numerous bust-ups in the North West.

One of the major issues that arose for the 32-year-old was his fallout with José Mourinho, with the former United boss stripping the big-money addition of the captaincy.

He would remain at the club for three more years after the former manager’s dismissal, but he never managed to live up to his price tag, something which Ruben Amorim needs to avoid in his own pursuit of a new midfielder this summer.

Manchester United manager RubenAmorimapplauds fans after the match

Man Utd’s hunt for a new midfielder this summer

There is no denying that Carlos Baleba has been United’s most-sought-after midfield target in recent weeks, but a deal now appears dead in the water after Brighton’s reluctance to offload the 21-year-old.

The Cameroonian hasn’t been the only Premier League star in their sights, with Adam Wharton another option under consideration – but the Englishman would be yet another expensive addition, given his current £100m asking price.

However, cheaper alternatives are currently being considered by the Red Devils hierarchy, with journalist Fabrizio Romano stating that Marseille star Adrien Rabiot is an option who could be considered.

He stated that the Frenchman is free to leave the Ligue 1 outfit this summer, with his representatives approaching Amorim’s side and offering the 30-year-old’s services to the club.

Romano also confirmed the Red Devils’ previous interest in the former Juventus star, which has undoubtedly played a huge part in the player’s agent reaching out once again.

Why United’s target would be their next Pogba

United’s midfield options at present remain sparse to say the least, with Amorim desperately wanting reinforcements in the next couple of weeks before the window slams shut.

Bruno Fernandes is undoubtedly the first name on the teamsheet in such an area, but there’s no consistent partner alongside him at the heart of the side.

Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte are all currently on the books, but there’s trio all have their drawbacks, which have prevented them from nailing down a regular starting role.

The Brazilian is entering the final years of his career, whilst Mainoo has struggled with fitness, but Ugarte has ultimately failed to hit the heights many expected after his £50m move from PSG.

Such situations have opened the door to added investment, leading to Rabiot being touted as one of the latest options in the hierarchy’s sights this summer.

However, caution must be taken with a deal for the Frenchman, potentially landing themselves a player similar to Pogba – but, not all aspects of such a comparison are positive.

Whilst he’s 6”3 – possessing a similar frame to Pogba – whilst also being the same nationality, it’s his actions off the pitch which have drawn the most similarities.

Rabiot, who’s been labelled “world-class” by David Trezeguet, has been allowed to leave Marseille after a bust-up with Jonathan Rowe, with controversy following him just like Pogba during his own time at United.

However, despite his off-field antics, the former Juventus star still possesses a lot of quality, as seen by his tally of 13 combined goals and assists in just 29 appearances.

He also completed 6.1 progressive passes per 90, whilst winning 1.8 tackles per 90, possessing the perfect qualities, making him the perfect box-to-box option in Amorim’s side.

The club’s hunt for a new midfielder has been ongoing for multiple weeks now, with a solution desperately needed to be made before the September 1st transfer deadline.

Rabiot could well be the answer, showcasing the quality he possesses during his recent spell in Ligue 1, but should they sign him, they will need to keep a close eye on his off-the-field antics, which have tarnished his stint at Marseille.

'Banging drums and smoke everywhere' – Liverpool sent 'pressure' warning ahead of Champions League trip to Galatasaray with 'put it out of your mind' advice

Liverpool have been warned to brace themselves for "banging drums and smoke everywhere" when travelling to Turkey for a Champions League clash with Galatasaray. The Reds will be back in European action on Tuesday, with Arne Slot’s side being told – by a man who knows all about life at both clubs – that they must put any distractions out of their mind when entering the most hostile of environments.

  • Liverpool heading to Galatasaray for first time in 19 years

The reigning Premier League champions are accustomed to performing in raucous atmospheres, with Anfield famed for the noise that it generates – especially on evenings when continental action is played out on Merseyside. They are, however, aware that the noise is turned up a notch when heading to RAMS Park in Istanbul.

Liverpool have taken in two previous trips to Galatasaray, but the most recent of those was way back in December 2006 – when suffering a 3-2 defeat. They were held to a 1-1 draw during a Champions League match in February 2002. Ahead of the Reds treading that path again, former Liverpool and Gala striker Dean Saunders has told Slot’s side what to expect when going in pursuit of more precious points on the road.

Psychological test for Liverpool in Istanbul

Saunders told of turning a deaf era and blind eye to what is going on in the stands: "Liverpool’s players have played in huge games before. They will know how to deal with pressure. At Galatasaray, I loved it there. It was a great club with unbelievable support. A 7pm kick off would see the fans in the stadium by 12. Banging drums, red and yellow smoke everywhere. I played there sometimes and we couldn’t see the pitch under the yellow and red. We played Sparta Prague and I just felt sorry for them as they tried to cope. I thought, this must be murder for them. But the manager will tell his players the same thing. Whatever else is going on, it’s 11 v 11. It’s the same size pitch. Nobody is coming from the crowd to tackle you or save your shots. It’s all psychological, so put it out of your mind."

Saunders added: "The only worry is the referee getting wrapped up in the atmosphere and having a bad game, but that’s the only way it can get to you in a way you can’t control. Don’t let the crowd affect you. Play your normal game. There’s not a Galatasaray player who would get into Liverpool’s starting XI. Arne Slot will be telling players to play their usual game, move the ball quickly, and quicker than your opponents, and we’ll have the brains to move to the right places. We have the strikers who can finish moves on, whatever the crowd does. It’ll be a tough night, but they just need to focus. Andy Robertson, for example, is going to have a chance to get in behind his opponent and he can make a goal for Hugo Ekitike. It’s the same across the pitch. Do the basics, fight, and you’ll be OK. A point in Istanbul is a good result, too, so there’s not too much pressure."

Liverpool lose 100 per cent record

Liverpool opened their Champions League campaign in 2025-26 with a dramatic 3-2 victory over La Liga giants Atletico Madrid, with club captain Virgil van Dijk netting a 92nd-minute winner at Anfield – with emotions spilling over on and off the pitch in that contest. Similar levels of intensity are expected in Istanbul. The Reds will head into that fixture on the back of a rare defeat, after seeing their 100 per cent record at the start of the new season ended in spectacular style.

Slot’s side dropped Premier League points for the first time this term when going down 2-1 at Crystal Palace. They netted another late goal in that match, but conceded even later as Eddie Nketiah had the final word in an absorbing encounter. Liverpool will be eager to make amends and get back to winning ways when taking in a testing trip to Turkey.
